Much-admired rock journalist Greg Shaw dies of a diabetes-related heart attack, aged 55, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Among many significant achievements, Shaw founded the magazines Mojo Navigator, Who Put The Bomp and The Phonograph Record Magazine, as well as coining the terms power pop and garage rock.
Sir Cliff Richard and Alvin Stardust attend the first night of Oscar Wilde – The Musical, at the Shaw Theatre, London, England, UK.
