In a legal letter to US Republican Senator Bob Dole, publishers Rondor Music threaten to sue him for up to $100,000 each time the song Dole Man [inspired by their copyright Soul Man] is played at an event. Dole has been using Dole Man in his election campaign even though the original songwriters, Isaac Hayes and David Porter, have stated that they do not support Dole and that the song is being used without their permission. The song was originally a hit in 1967 for soul duo Sam And Dave.
